VW Golf GTD - Remove Splashes of Masonry Paint

Updated: Dec 15, 2018

Duration: 2 Days

Main Coating: KKD Si-STAL

Durability: Up to 1 Year

VW Golf was brought into me as it was covered with splashes of masonry paint from a neighbour having the exterior of the house painted, to make things worse the decorators tried to remove some of the paint from the bonnet marring the paint

Firstly the car was washed using the usual safe wash techniques. Once dried I tried Bilt Hamber soft clay bar and Dodo Juice Born Slippy. This was removing some of the splashes but not all so I moved up to Bilt Hamber Medium clay bar, this removed the paint contaminants perfectly.

Now fully clayed I gave the car another safe wash; ready for the 2 stage machine polish. I used a Liquid Elements Orange pad with Koch Chemie H8.02 on my Flex VRG (this is a forced rotation dual action machine polisher). Once the 1st stage was complete I used a Chemical Guys Red Hex-logic pad with Koch Chemie M2.01 finishing polish. The car was then wiped down with Envy Filler Killer to remove any polish residues. I then gave the paintwork a coat of KKD Si-STAL for protection and the black plastic were treated with KKD Trim X, I protected the wheel faces with Feynlab Ceramified Spray Sealant. The interior was vacuumed and the windows were cleaned inside & out with KKD Krystal Klear and tyres dressed with KKD Tyresol.
